The Group has finalised it’s programme of winter talks.
November’s subject will be one of the village’s oldest houses. Susan Kelly, the owner, will introduce us to “A Tudor house in Westbourne: exploring the history of Box Cottage, East Street”. The illustrated talk will take place on Friday November 14 at The Meeting Place in North Street at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm).
December 12th will offer something different – a fun and informative illustrated history quiz by Roger Wilding with a Christmas sherry and mince pie. (doors open 7pm for 7.30 start).
On January 17th Nigel Peake will recount some Tales of Old Westbourne, with amusing and alarming stories gathered from old newspapers. (doors open 2pm).
February’s talk will be by Roger Wilding on The Watermills of Westbourne, based on his researches for our forthcoming publication of the same name. (Feb 20th – doors open 7pm for 7.30 start).
All talks are free and are held in The Meeting Place, North Street.
