Hasn’t changed greatly except for more cars and fewer shops.

The old hand painted photo may be from around 1865 because it is missing a window from the nave.

Watson’s and the Co-Op
The old photography was probably VE day. The Watsons ran and old fashioned grocery store for more than 25 years until 1956
East Street
The roads were the playground.
The Stag’s Head is now half timbered.
The Good Intent
Closed c. 2010, becoming a private residence
The Lamb Inn
The original pub has been split into three buildings.
Weston’s Stores
The Lamb sign has gone so post 1922
Whitechimney Row
Not a good place now to be dog walking off lead or to be up a protruding ladder !
River Street
Several buildings in the middle ground of this view have been renewed.
The Grove
Apart from the cars this view hasn’t changed greatly.
North Street
The Phone box indicates the position of the former Post Office, with Trudgett’s bakery next door
Trudgett’s Sweet shop
While the shops have gone the view would be very recognizable.
The Brooks
Note the first Parish Hall to the right and the Robinson’s smallholding to the left.
In many of the recent views Westbourne has become greener.
